Sherry Holman joined First Colorado Land Office in March of 2018 as a Broker Associate. After working for a year at another Real Estate Brokerage Office it was clear that First Colorado Land Office offered the integrity and experience necessary to succeed in assisting clients with their real estate needs in a professional yet warm and welcoming environment.
She moved to the area with her husband Frank Holman when he retired from Colorado Department of Transportation after 32 years to operate the Holman Family Ranch in 2002. Frank grew up in the Poncha Springs area, where his family has been active in the community for 5 generations. Frank and Sherry’s love of Chaffee County and country lifestyle made this a natural choice for them
Previously, for 15 years, Sherry worked as a Vice President of Mortgage Lending for Pinnacle Bancorp, Vectra Bank and Community Banks of Colorado at several of their locations in Craig, Ft. Lupton, Windsor, Alamosa, La Jara and Salida. At several of the bank locations she established a secondary mortgage department where she managed a full-service mortgage operation as well as underwriting the mortgage loans as a designated underwriter for FHA, VA and multiple investors.
Sherry grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana, was very active in 4-H, horseback riding and track and field. She attended college in Tucson, Arizona where she majored in nursing. After working in the medical field for 10 years she obtained a real estate license in Craig, Colorado. There she worked as a Sales Associate with American Northwest Realty for 5 years. This experience in real estate led to her career in mortgage finance. After the mortgage industry recession Sherry spent the last 9 years working at the Upper Arkansas Area Agency on Aging and Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.
The pride and joy of Sherry’s life is her husband, their 6 children and 12 grandchildren. She also enjoys and appreciates living and working on a ranch in Chaffee County where natural beauty and wildlife surround their home. She enjoys riding horses and has trained and boarded horses in the past. Her passion for assisting the elderly is evident in her past role as Facilitator for the area Alzheimer’s Support Group and Instructor for Strong People Strong Bones.
